Lustre & Co — macro retouching that made every stone sell.

A fine-jewelry house’s online photos were flattening pieces that dazzle in person. We retouched the line at macro magnification — lifting brilliance, cleaning metal, matching color — and product-page conversion rose 24%.

Executive summary .

Lustre & Co sells rings, necklaces and watches that look exquisite in person — but online, the camera was flattening every stone. Dust, fingerprints and dull facets that the eye forgives in a showcase became glaring on a product page.

We retouched the full line at macro magnification and locked a consistent metal-tone standard — lifting brilliance, cleaning surfaces, and raising product-page conversion 24%.

The Clipp Out Line solution .

Specialists worked each piece at full zoom: dust and scratches off the metal, inclusions calmed, facets and prongs cleaned, reflections rebuilt — brilliant but believable, never the over-cooked sparkle of a filter.

Color retouch then matched yellow, rose and white metals to one standard, so the collection looks unified across every product page.

Lustre's pieces were already dazzling. The photographs just needed to catch the light.

What mattered

Understanding what really mattered for Lustre & Co .

Making stones look as brilliant as they are

Straight out of the camera, diamonds read grey and gold looked muddy. The imagery was undercutting the craftsmanship — and the price point.

Generic filters oversaturated and plasticized the stones, and looked different piece to piece. Nothing captured real fire and scintillation.

Macro retouching lifted brilliance naturally and calmed distracting inclusions — brilliant but believable, never fake. Conversion rose 24%.

Cleaning metal without losing character

Polished bands and watch cases threw harsh hot spots and showed every fingerprint and micro-scratch under studio light.

Dust, prints and scratches were glaring at product-page zoom, and reflections fell across the metal in distracting bright patches.

We cleaned every surface and rebuilt clean, believable reflections — keeping the metal’s true character and finish intact.

Unifying color across the whole line

Yellow, rose and white metals drifted in tone shot to shot, so a collection viewed together looked inconsistent and less premium.

White-balance drift meant the same gold looked different across pieces, breaking the sense of a cohesive, high-end collection.

lor retouch locked every metal to one standard, so the line looks unified across every product page and lookbook.

Our approach

Spec first, then scale .

Lustre didn’t need a filter — they needed a retoucher’s eye at scale. Their pieces are genuinely beautiful, so the goal was honesty: show the real stone and the real metal at their best, consistently, across the whole line.

So we agreed the finish first. A free sample established a natural, true-to-life look — brilliant but believable — before any production work began. Once that was signed off, every piece ran through the same macro workflow with QA on each frame.
