Jewelry photo retouching services we provide.
Our jewelry image retouching services are split into six lines, each priced on its own. Order one or combine several, as jewelry brands expect from professional jewelry retouching services. If a piece of jewelry only needs dust removed, that is all you pay for.
Metal cleanup.
The first step in most jewelry photo editing. Dust, lint, fingerprints and fine scratches are removed from gold, silver and platinum by hand, using the piece’s own surface as the source so each repair matches the grain around it.
Brush lines, mill marks and hand-finished texture are kept. Metal smoothed flat looks like a 3D render, and shoppers browsing jewelry online notice it at full zoom.
from $2.00 per photo
- Dust and lint removed
- Fine scratches filled
- Brushed texture retained
- Fingerprints cleared
- Polish grain preserved
- Exposure tidied

Colour and metal tone.
White balance is set against the swatch or product page you send, so yellow, rose and white gold stay distinct and read the same on every image in a collection. This is the part of jewellery photo editing that keeps a range consistent.
We agree one colour spec on your trial images and apply it to every order after, so a spring shoot and an autumn restock match. Many brands brief this as jewellery photo retouching, and the spec works the same way.
from $5.00 per photo
- White balance corrected
- Yellow, rose and white held apart
- Consistent across a line
- Matched to your swatch
- Backdrop cast neutralised
- Gemstone hue kept true
Reflection control.
Polished metal needs highlights to look like metal, but blown highlights read as blank white. Our jewelry image retouching brings hot spots back into range and rebuilds clean reflections on bands, watch cases and polished faces.
Camera, softbox and studio reflections are removed, which adds dimension and depth to jewelry images. Where a highlight is fully clipped, there is no detail to recover, and we tell you rather than paint in a guess.
from $3.00 per photo
- Hot spots brought into range
- Specular life retained
- Studio kit reflections removed
- Reflections rebuilt by hand
- Sapphire glare calmed
- Dial and case detail kept

Stone clarity.
Retouching jewelry photos at the stone level means working facet by facet at full magnification. Dust in the setting and distracting inclusions are reduced, while each gem keeps its real cut, colour and character.
We do not make a stone look better than its GIA clarity grade. A flawless-looking VS2 diamond leads to returns, and honest, high-quality jewelry photographs are what build trust across the jewelry industry.
from $7.00 per photo
- Dust in the setting removed
- Real facets kept
- Colour saturation held true
- Distracting inclusions calmed
- Girdle and table cleaned
- Grade still honest
Sparkle and brilliance.
The core of high end jewelry retouching. Fire and sparkle are lifted with local contrast and hand dodge and burn, so diamonds and coloured stones look bright without turning glassy.
How much sparkle you want is a brand decision, recorded on your spec sheet. These retouching techniques highlight the best features of each stone and bring out the beauty of your jewelry without inventing detail.
from $10.00 per photo
- Fire and scintillation lifted
- Hand dodge and burn
- House sparkle level held
- Local contrast per facet
- No invented facets
- Consistent across the set

Prong and symmetry work.
A jewelry retoucher on our team straightens settings and balances prongs where the camera angle skewed them, so the piece sits square and no claw looks bent. Chain links, clasps and bails are tidied at the same time.
Genuinely asymmetric pieces are left as made, because hand-made jewelry should look hand-made. Our jewelry retouchers apply the same rule to creative jewelry, where the features of the jewelry are part of the story.
from $5.00 per photo
- Prongs balanced
- Chain links evened
- Hand-made character kept
- Setting squared to camera
- Clasp and bail tidied
- Edge holds at 100%

What each level of finish includes.
The three jewelry retouching services packages clients order most, with what a retoucher does at each level.

Jewelry photo editing and cleanup.
Our lightest finish, suited to pieces that were cleaned before the shoot and lit evenly. Exposure is set, the backdrop colour cast removed, and dust, lint and fingerprints taken off the metal.
The background is set to pure white, so a marketplace set matches on a category page. This level of jewellery image editing suits most listings and all types of jewelry items, from studs to chains.
from $12.00 per photo
- Dust and fingerprints removed
- White balance corrected
- Background to marketplace white
- Exposure tidied
- Backdrop cast neutralised
- Minor spots cleared
Jewelry image retouching and reflection work.
Our most ordered level, and the one we recommend for product pages. Fine scratches are filled, surfaces cleaned without losing polish grain, and hot spots rebuilt rather than simply darkened.
Any area you want left as shot stays untouched. This is professional jewelry photo retouching for jewelry product photos that need to sell, and the level most online jewelry stores start with.
from $15.00 per photo
- Everything in basic cleanup
- Surface smoothing, grain kept
- Reflections balanced
- Scratch filling on metal
- Hot spots rebuilt
- Metal tone matched to swatch

High-end and hero retouching.
This high-end jewelry retouching level is for images where the stone is the subject, or where the image will be printed large. Stone clarity, sparkle, and prong and symmetry work are all included, and the whole piece is finished at full magnification.
Hero and editorial work, from $25 per image, adds focus stacking, rebuilt reflections and relighting for campaigns. Our high-end jewelry photo retouching relies on expert retouching, not presets, to make your jewelry hold up in print. Creative retouching for a creative jewelry photo is quoted separately.
from $25.00 per photo
- Everything in standard retouch
- Prong and symmetry work
- Reflections rebuilt
- Gemstone clarity and sparkle
- Focus stacks merged
- Relight for print or campaign
What good jewellery image retouching looks like.
Every image from our jewelry retouching services passes these six checks before delivery. They cover the aspects of jewelry shoppers inspect first, and new retouchers learn them in their first week as the base of our jewelry retouching techniques.
01
Stones still look like stones
Inclusions are reduced, not erased, so each stone still matches its grade.
02
Metal tone matches your reference
Checked against the swatch or product page you supply. Yellow, rose and white gold read the same across the whole line.
03
Highlights controlled, not flattened
Blown areas are brought back into range and the shine is kept.
04
Prongs and settings sit true
Straightened where the camera angle distorted them, and left alone where the piece is genuinely asymmetric.
05
Edge holds at 100%
No halos or jagged edges around chains and claws. Hard edges are cut with the pen tool, fine links are masked, and both are checked at actual pixel size.
06
Spec sheet obeyed
Canvas size, margins, background, layers and file names are checked against your spec sheet, so every batch matches the last.

What we see go wrong in client files.
Most slow retouches start on set. These six issues add the most time to every jewellery retouch, and each one is easy to avoid during the shoot.
No colour reference
Images arrive with no swatch, product page or note. We can remove a colour cast, but we cannot tell whether a band should read rose or champagne.
Piece shot uncleaned
Fingerprints and dust that a microfibre cloth would remove in seconds become paid retouching time on every image.
One hard light source
A single bare light blows out the top of every polished surface, and fully clipped highlights cannot be recovered.
No focus stack
Deep settings and long chains cannot be sharp end to end in one frame. Without a focus stack, part of the piece will be soft.
Reflective backdrop
A coloured or glossy surface reflects its colour into the metal. A neutral grey or white backdrop saves a colour pass on every image.
No spec on the first order
Without a spec, ten pieces can get ten different sparkle levels. Agreeing it on the trial saves a revision round on every later batch.
Hand retouching vs. the alternatives.
AI presets are faster and an in-house retoucher gives more control. Here is how our jewelry photo editing services compare, and why professional retouching by hand is still affordable for perfect jewelry images.

Yes. Every jewelry retouching service can be ordered on its own, such as metal cleanup only. Most jewelers combine two or three services per image, and this flexibility is what brands want from the best jewelry photo retouching service.
Jewelry photo retouching is detailed editing of the piece itself: removing dust and scratches from metal, cleaning and brightening stones, controlling reflections and correcting metal colour. It is also called jewelry photography retouching or jewelry editing.
Jewelry photo editing covers the whole file: cutouts, backgrounds and export. Jewelry retouching is detailed work on metal, stones and reflections. Whether we retouch jewelry only or do both, we quote jewelry photo editing and retouching as one set of retouching and editing services.
Yes. We remove dust and distracting inclusions and lift brilliance, but every stone keeps its real facets and colour. We never make a stone look better than its grade.
